Little Champs Urdu Qaida for Kids, Animals and Birds (3 in 1)

This Urdu qaida for kids by Little Champs teaches huroof-e-tahajji, the Urdu alphabet, with a colourful picture for every letter, and adds pages of animals and birds. It’s a tall board book for pre-school children who are starting to read and write Urdu, at home or alongside playgroup, nursery and prep.

The cover says parhein, likhein aur mitaein: read, write and wipe. Each letter is printed big and bold with a dotted outline beside it. Your child traces the outline with a whiteboard marker, wipes it off with a tissue and tries again, as many times as it takes for the shape to feel easy.

What’s inside

• Letters with picturesAlif for anar, bay for basta, pay for panda, tay for tala and so on, so every sound is linked to something your child knows.
• Trace and wipeA dotted copy of each letter to write over again and again, with no paper wasted.
• Animals and birdsBright pictures named in Urdu, such as hans raj (swan), ullu (owl), kawwa (crow), mor (peacock), murgha (rooster), kabootar (pigeon) and teetar (partridge).
• Strong pages20 pages of thick imported card with rounded corners, made for small hands.

How to use it

2. 2Let your child trace the dotted letter with a whiteboard (dry-erase) marker.
3. 3Wipe it clean with a tissue or a soft dry cloth, and repeat.
4. 4When the letters feel easy, read the animal and bird names together.

Who it’s for

Children in playgroup, nursery and prep who are learning their first Urdu letters, and families who practise Urdu at home. This Urdu qaida also suits children growing up abroad who are learning Urdu as a second language.

Tip: use only a whiteboard marker. Permanent markers and ballpoint pens don’t wipe off.
