Stainless Steel Steamer Stand for Pots and Pressure Cookers

This stainless steel steamer stand turns a deep pot, patila or pressure cooker into a steamer for home cooks who make momos, dumplings, fish, eggs, dhokla or steamed vegetables. It’s a round perforated plate on three legs that holds food above boiling water, and it warms food through without a microwave too.

How to steam with it

1. 1Pour 2–3 cm of water into a deep pot, keeping the level below the plate.
2. 2Stand it in the pot on its legs and bring the water to the boil.
3. 3Lay the food on the plate. A little oil or a cabbage leaf under each momo stops it sticking.
4. 4Cover with a tight lid and steam, checking the water level during longer cooking.
5. 5Lift it out with tongs or a thick cloth; the steel gets very hot.

Will it fit your pot?

The steamer stand needs a pot that is wider than the plate and deep enough for the lid to close with food on top. Measure the inside of your pot or pressure cooker; if you’re not sure, message us on WhatsApp with the size and we’ll tell you if it fits.

Tip: leave a little space between momos so steam can reach every side, and don’t lift the lid too often while they cook.
