About the Marie’s Acrylic Paint Set, 12 Colours in 12 ml Tubes
Marie’s acrylic paint set with 12 colours in 12 ml tubes, for art students, beginners and hobby painters working on canvas, paper, wood or fabric. Marie’s has made artists’ colours since 1919, and this set (No. 812B) is an easy, reliable way to start with acrylics.
Acrylics are water-based: you thin them with water and wash brushes in water, with no turpentine and no strong smell. Used thick, Marie’s acrylic paint holds brush marks for texture, much like oil paint; thinned with water, it gives soft, watercolour-like washes. Once dry, it forms a film that resists water and dirt, so finished work is easy to keep.
The 12 colours
Titanium white, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, vermilion, crimson, burnt sienna, burnt umber, emerald green, viridian, ultramarine, phthalo blue and black. With white and black, plus two yellows, two reds, two browns, two greens and two blues, you can mix most of the shades a painting needs, from skin tones to skies.

Questions and answers
What size are the tubes?
Each tube holds 12 ml, as printed on the box (12 × 12 ml).
Which colours are in the set?
Titanium white, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, vermilion, crimson, burnt sienna, burnt umber, emerald green, viridian, ultramarine, phthalo blue and black.
Can I use it on fabric or wood?
Yes. Marie’s acrylics work on canvas, paper, wood, fabric and more. For clothes you plan to wash, mixing in a fabric medium helps the paint stay flexible.
Does it wash off once dry?
No. Wet acrylic washes off with water, but once dry it’s water-resistant, so clean brushes and spills straight away.
