How to set it up

1. 1Wash the jars, lids and spoons in warm soapy water and let them dry completely.
2. 2Fill each jar about three-quarters full, so the spoon still fits under the lid.
3. 3Put the masalas you use most on the lower front level and the rest on top.
4. 4Label the lids if you keep look-alike powders such as dhania and garam masala.

Looking after it

• Wash the jars by hand; very hot water can warp plastic.
• Dry jars fully before refilling, because damp jars make masala clump.
• Keep the spice rack away from the flame and the hot back of the stove.

Tip: whole spices like zeera and saunf keep their aroma longer than ground ones, so keep whole spices in the jars and grind small amounts as you need them.
